Message from the Director Welcome to the Dental Assistant Program at Labette Community College! We are excited to be offering this program for our students and community. Today, there are fewer dentists graduating, and qualified dental assistants are becoming increasingly valuable members of dental teams to fill service gaps across the country. My career as a dental assistant began in 1984 in private practice. Since that time, I have worked in a variety of dental settings including private practices, multi-specialties practices, dental clinics, and a dental practice management and team growth company. I have been in dental education since 2005, and have found it to be extremely rewarding. It is an exciting time to be in the field of dentistry, I hope you will find it to be an inviting and fulfilling career.
