Armando Johnson
Head Coach
Coach Armando Johnson will be entering his sixth year as the Head Men's
Basketball Coach at Labette
Community College.
Armando, a former Cardinal, was a member and two year starter of the
first basketball team to start the resurgence of the Men's Basketball
Program in 1988 after a 15 year absence of basketball at LCC.
Armando is a graduate of Pittsburg
State University
with a BA in Spanish. Coach Johnson also spends time as a Spanish
Instructor at Labette
Community College.
He also holds a BA in History and a BS is Secondary Education. Coach
Johnson has worked to revive the program and make it a competitive entity
within the Kansas Jayhawk Conference.
Coach Johnson resides in Parsons
with his wife, Angela, and 2 of his 5 children, Karon and Joaquin.

Eddie Broughton
Assistant Coach

Coach Eddie Broughton will be entering his first year an Assistant
Men's Basketball Coach at Labette Community College and fourth year
overall. Eddie has coached previously at St. Gregory’s University, where he
was the Head Men’s J.V. Basketball Coach as well, Western Oklahoma State
College and had a small stint at Oklahoma City University. Eddie is a
graduate of St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee, OK; earning a bachelors
degree in Sports Management and in Marketing.
Monte White
Assistant Coach
Coach
Monte White brings a wealth of experience to the Cardinal Coaching
staff. Monte was one of the key members of one of the most
successful high school teams produced in Southeast Kansas while at Parsons High School,
(25-1 and ranked 8th in the Midlands by
USA Today for the 1992-93 season) as well as being a former Cardinal standout(1993-94). He is invaluable to the LCC
Cardinal Men's Basketball Program with his defensive insight as well as
his overall knowledge of basketball. Coach White has become very
instrumental in the recruitment of top talent and bringing them to Labette Community College. His
undying dedication has helped the Cardinal Basketball Program become a
respected member of the Kansas Jayhawk
Conference.
Jack Kennedy
Student Assistant Coach
Jack joins the
Labette coaching staff after 2 years of playing for the Cardinals himself
from 2006 through 2008. Graduating from St. Paul High School, Kennedy made a
significant impact on the defensive side of the basketball for Labette.
While finishing up his degree at Labette, he has had a major hand in
recruiting for the 2008-’09 Cards.
